Happy Thanksgiving
AKA being thankful
I try and be aware of how cool my life is everyday, but today, the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, I think about it even more. Especially this year, when I am sick with a bad cold.
harvest timeAs horrible as I feel, I know and am thankful it is temporary. I have books and anime and books and music and TV shows and books to keep my mind entertained and off the aches of my body. My parents called from Canada to wish me a happy holiday. I have friends who offered to bring me food. I have an awesome boyfriend who’s coming by tomorrow for a Daniel Craig James Bond movie fest. And I have a job to go to on Monday that pays my mortgage, electricity, and hot water bill.
All of these things I am thankful for.
And I am thankful I can write this post. My eyes can see and my fingers can type. I know how to use words to express my thoughts and emotions. I am a writer.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Dr. Meredith Grey: Maybe being grateful means recognizing what you have for what it is. Appreciating small victories. Admiring the struggle it takes simply to be human. Maybe we’re thankful for the familiar things we know. And maybe we’re thankful for the things we’ll never know. At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing is reason enough to celebrate.
